Dr. Kristen Schotthoefer’s personality is effervescent and her love for dentistry contagious. It’s always been her dream to be in the medical field. Even as a child she won an award for her essay about being a doctor. At 20 she became an assistant in her cousin’s dental office and his encouragement gave her just what she needed to pursue her career. Twenty years later she is a married mom of two children and one black lab, and has opened her own practice near the place where she grew up. Welcome to your new dental home.

Inspired Family Dental is a full service family dental practice for all ages. Inside the solid brick home on Mack you will find an uplifting, vintage-modern decor, a state-of-the-art clinic with digital x-rays, and a team that is qualified, approachable, and ready to serve your dental needs. Years of advanced training with Spear Education gives Dr. Schotthoefer the expertise to offer restorations such as crowns and root canals, cosmetic dentistry like veneers and Invisalign, and preventative dental care visits with her dental hygiene team. “It’s important to me that the practice is welcoming and not stressful. Dentistry doesn’t have to be stressful and we use modern techniques and 12 years of experience to make sure it’s not,” says Dr. Schotthoefer. They offer oral sedation if needed and have nitrous oxide in every room. Her philosophy is not a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Instead you can trust her to help you find the treatment that fits you as an individual. As a mother and caretaker, her ultimate goal is to prevent disease–especially with children–but when treatment is necessary you will find yourself in caring and capable hands.

“I used to be a professional dance instructor but now I dance around my children!” says Dr. Schotthoefer. She loves to read and the entire family enjoys the outdoors. When time allows she likes to volunteer in the community especially at the children’s schools. “Yesterday I was the Lunch Mom! That was a lot of fun.” But once you know Kristen, you know that most things are a lot of fun for her and chances are she will make you smile too.
